People say “Every dog has its day.” This indeed is also what’s going on in the fashion world, where every classic has the chance to enjoy a gracious return someday, and then fades, and probably comes back again years later. New designs certainly keep emerging, yet the timeless styles never completely die out. In the relatively smaller realm of swimwear, this cycle goes even faster. And the summer of 2013 is now considered as the new prime time for one-piece swimsuits, which have dwarfed those two-pieces and bikinis quite much since the beginning of the year. And for ladies who are somehow unsatisfied with their own figures, it may be just perfect news.
For swimwear designers, perhaps, dealing with one-pieces is a more interesting game, since the tiny teeny bikinis actually leave much less room for creativities. Yet, one-piece swimwear allows way more innovative designs, which has well explained why on the SS 2013 fashion runways we have seen so many one-piece novelties all looking gorgeous with all kinds of printings, cutouts, uses of lace, color-blockings, etc. Although one-pieces cover much more of the skin, gone are the days when they were described as garments for only the conservative and shy.
