Tucking the kids into bed with a bedtime story, one of the most traditional activities in American families, can now be done by some modern hi-tech invention instead of the parents. Children are children, who mostly won’t fall asleep without a bedtime story told by mom or dad, or other families. Now as possibly one wonderful way-out for those busy, or lazy, parents, this routine task can now be undertaken by the new smart kind of pajamas, which was just released by Smart PJs, a newly established company based in Idaho, America. Instead of embedding computer chips into the sleepwear, the system works by simply scanning the dots printed on it.
The new creations by Smart PJs are now already up for grabs on its website at $25 USD per set, available in kids’ sizes from the 1 to 8-year-olds, and styles respectively for boys and girls. The dots on them actually work in the same way as QR codes do. Hold a phone camera over them and then the corresponding scripts of a story will show up on the phone screen and the words will be read by a free app.
However, debates rise with pros and cons. Although the invention gives parents an easier life, it in the meantime cuts the chances for communications between parents and the kids. And that kind of nice and warm memory about bedtime story will not come along anymore as the kids grow up.
